A .650 FLINTLOCK SERVICE-PISTOL, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'TOWER PATTERN', no visible serial number,
circa 1786, with round 9in. barrel, London proofs and engraved bands at breech, solid top-tang, borderline engraved lock marked with a crown over 'G.R.' device, walnut full-stock with carved apron around the top-tang, the wrist with a Board of Ordnance stamp and date, heavy brass furniture, the butt-cap marked with '97' over 'MP' on the right ear and with traces of further dot-stamped characters to the cap base and brass tipped wood ramrod
